My name is Valeria. I am a junior majoring in Gender Studies and Film Studies. At the moment I am in Ecuador where I was born and raised. I created this blog for Film History I and I will use it again for Film History II, feel free to read any of my previews blogs J
Knowing the history of cinema is a very important component when analyzing film and theorizing about it, so taking the film history sequence is something I have been looking forward to since I started my film major. When I took Film History I it was really interesting to analyze films before synchronized sound, I am curious to see how sound impacted the cinematography in films.

Hi Valeria! There are so many intersections between gender studies and film studies, so I am very excited to hear your insight during class! Wishing I could be in Ecuador right now too. -TA Caroline
It is interesting to think about the way that the sound synchronization innovation impacts the consolidation of Hollywood particularly in relationship to depictions of gender roles.
